1. Data controller

2. What we collect
- Required: first name, last name, email address.
- Optional: institution, country, academic/professional role.
We only collect the information you voluntarily enter in the registration form. We do not ask for phone numbers or any special-category data.
Technical data: to protect the form from spam and abuse, our server temporarily processes your IP address for short-term rate-limiting only (legal basis: our legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). It is not stored in the registration list.
Email delivery information: for the reliable operation of confirmations and event reminders, we record when a message is queued, accepted by the mail server, delivered, deferred, bounced or fails. If enabled, we also record clicks on the programme and conference-access links. We do not use invisible email-opening pixels, advertising profiles or third-party analytics.
3. Purpose and legal basis
Your data is used solely to register you for the conference, send you an automatic confirmation, and provide you with information related to the event (such as the access link). The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by ticking the consent box.
4. Recipients
Your data is stored on the conference's own hosting infrastructure. It may be shared with the co-organizing faculties — Catholic University of Rwanda, Protestant University of Rwanda and the Theological Faculty of Trier — exclusively for the organization of this event. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.
5. International transfers
The conference is organized from Bolivia and co-organized with institutions in Rwanda and Germany. Your registration data is therefore processed in Bolivia and may be shared with the co-organizing faculties in Rwanda and Germany. Bolivia and Rwanda are not covered by a European Union adequacy decision; by giving your consent, you agree to this transfer for the sole purpose of organizing the conference (Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR).
6. Retention
Your data is kept until the conclusion of the conference and for a short period afterwards, and is deleted no later than three months after the conference.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time (without affecting prior processing). To exercise these rights, contact teologia.cba@ucb.edu.bo. Participants in the EU also have the right to lodge a complaint with their national data protection supervisory authority.
